Obtain an e-identification
Currently there are three established providers of e-identification available to you as a private individual: BankID, AB Svenska Pass, and Freja eID Plus .
All three e-identification providers have been reviewed and received the government stamp of approval ‘Svensk e-legitimation’.
These are the e-identifications you can obtain
- BankID (issued by the banks)
- Freja eID Plus (issued in an app provided by Freja eID Group AB)
- AB Svenska Pass (issued on the Tax Agency's ID card).
If you need help with your eID
If you need assistance in how to use your e-identification, if you've forgotten your password or if it's not functioning, you have to contact the e-identification provider who issued your e-identification.

There are three types of BankID that you can order from your bank:

- a physical smart card (BankID on a card)

Freja eID Plus
You can obtain Freja eID Plus by downloading the app to your smartphone or tablet and going to a participating ATG service centre to activate it at the plus level.
You must be entered in the Swedish population register and able to verify your identity. Parental approval is required if you are under 18.
