Obtain an e-identification
In order to obtain a Swedish e-identification you're required to have a Swedish personal identification number. Some of the e-identifications also requires that you are registered in the Swedish population register. Below you'll find more information about the different e-identifications and their requirements.
Currently there are three established providers of e-identification available to you as a private individual: BankID, AB Svenska Pass, and Freja eID Plus .
All three e-identification providers have been reviewed and received the government stamp of approval ‘Svensk e-legitimation’.
These are the e-identifications you can obtain
- BankID (issued by the banks)
- Freja eID Plus (issued in an app provided by Freja eID Group AB)
- AB Svenska Pass (issued on the Tax Agency's ID card).
If you need help with your eID
If you need assistance in how to use your e-identification, if you've forgotten your password or if it's not functioning, you have to contact the e-identification provider who issued your e-identification.
